黒江の伝統技術と新しいアイデアによって生まれたGLASS JAPAN。漆塗りは今まで、表面に傷がつきやすいフォークやナイフを多様する洋食器の分野には不向きでした。
GLASS JAPANは、ガラスの透明性に漆の豊かな表現力を融合させることにより、今までの漆器のイメージを変え、新しい洋食器の可能性を生み出しました。

GLASS JAPAN which was born by a traditional technique of Kuroe and new idea. The lacquering was unsuitable for the field of Western style dishes which often use fork and knife that was easy to be scratched on the surface so far. GLASS JAPAN changed an image of the conventional lacquerware by fusing rich expression of URUSHI into the transparency of the glass.

HISTORY

和歌山県海南市黒江は、400年以上の歴史をもつ黒江塗り漆器生産の中心であり、 山中塗・会津塗とともに日本三大産地のひとつとして数えられています。海に面する温暖な気候から、漆の硬化に適当な湿度を持つなど漆器生産に適していたため漆器産業が栄え てきました。 川端通り周辺に昔の漆器職人たちの住居兼職場や問屋が通りに面してノコギリの歯のように規則正しく並び、 独特な漆器町の景観が形成されています。

Kuroe, Kainan-shi in Wakayama is the center of the Kuroe-style lacquerwork production for more than 400 years and is counted as one of the Japan’s three biggest production centers with Yamanaka URUSHI and Aizu URUSHI. Because it was suitable for lacquerware production with the humidity that was suitable for lacquered hardening from a warm climate to face the sea, lacquerware industry prospered. The house and the workplace of old lacquerware craftsmen, and the wholesale dealers form a line like the tooth of the saw facing the street around Kawabata Street with regularity, and the scenery of the unique lacquerware town is termed.

Makie is the technique of Japanese lacquer art which scatters gold and silver powder from the top of lacquer and paints . The technique gold lacquerwork builds gold and silver powder up at the place where a design was carved on a layer of lacquer by a carving knife and it was carved.

KODAI

古来より日本に伝わる伝統色。本朱色。 漆器の世界で使われる色は他の業種の色味使いと違い、独特の色味表現があります。 漆器の色は何層にも異なる色を塗り重ねて、一つの色を表現します。

The traditional color transmitted to Japan from ancient times. The vermillion. The color used in the world of lacquer ware is different from other ones, and there is a peculiar color taste. The color of the lacquer ware for many layers to represent one of the color overlapping paint a different color.

GOLD / SILVER

ガラスの裏面から特殊な金粉、銀粉で箔のような優雅な輝きを表現した塗りです。 従来の金塗りは黄土色に見え、。銀塗りはグレーに見えます 今までの塗りの金塗り銀塗りの常識を覆した塗りです。

It was applied by special gold and silver powder and a graceful blaze was expressed from the back of the glass. Conventional gold coating looks ocher, silver coating looks gray . The coating which overturned common sense of the former coating.

I put the japanese style URUSHI technique and a unique texture on Western tableware, and create new lacquerware. I greatly widen the expression of table coordinates to the creation of the dish which continues evolving.

ガラス+漆。黒江の伝統技術と新しいアイデアによって 生まれた GLASS JAPAN。漆塗り作家・藤井嘉彦がつく るガラスの透明性と漆の豊かな表現力が融合した新しい漆器に、デザイナー・稲葉絵里の感性が響き合い、新しい洋食器「ペルラ」が誕生しました。

GLASS + URUSHI. GLASS JAPAN where I was born by a traditional technique of Kuroe and a new idea. By being resonant the new lacquerware that fused the transparency of glass and the rich expression of URUSHI artist Yoshihiko Fujii with the sensitivity of designer Eri Inaba, new Western style tableware series PERLA was born.

Produced by Eri Inaba 真珠の粉に新しく開発された 変光性染料を加える事で不思議な色をつくりだし それをガラスの裏面から意匠つけすることで 真珠を削り作り出したかのような 美しく不思議な世界を漆器の塗り技法で表現した塗りです。

The mysterious color is produced by adding a new dye to powder of a pearl. The beautiful and mysterious world which has begun to shave a pearl was expressed to apply that from the back of the glass.
